Egremont town council help Ms Cumbria finalist Brooke to raise money for the children’s charity called Variety

At the recent Egremont Town Council meeting, Town Council Chairperson Neil Ferguson presented a cheque for £100 to Brooke Drummond on behalf of the children’s charity – Variety.

As a Miss Cumbria finalist, Brooke, who lives in Egremont, chose Variety as her charity of choice as they help those who are disadvantaged or disabled by organising day trips or helping with equipment that is needed and this has benefitted families in Egremont parish.

In 2018 Brooke managed to raise £800 for Variety, this year her goal was to raise £1,000 & she has undertaken a number of challenges to do so including a cake sale, bag packing in local supermarkets, hosting a charity costume ball & raffles and along with the financial support from Egremont Town Council, she announced that she had reached her target with an overall total of £1,065.

Brooke was congratulated by Councillors & it was agreed that she is a true inspiration to other young people.

Brooke thanked Councillors for their generous donation & she stated that she will continue to help fundraise for other charities as well as her volunteering for Age UK.
