The substation at the end of Greenmoor road, Old Smithfield, Egremont has had a make over.
It is part of a new initiative by ElectricNorthwest to beautify existing substation in areas that have had funding shortfall and little new investment.
The work began two months ago when the area around the substation was cleared, dug and had wild flowers planted and has now as the flowers grow we can see the work was worth it.
Borough and town councillor Sam Pollen has been working with ElectricNorthwest to bring the area investment and to improve areas that have been looking a bit drab or overgrown. The company has put enough money aside to maintain what has already been done and to plant a new crop of wild flowers each year. The company has plans to do similar works with other substations around Copeland.
