Egremont Town Council Councillors and Staff would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a more sociable 2021.

There is no doubt that 2020 has been the most difficult year in modern years but our community has yet again shown its resilience and ability to just get on with things.

We have seen neighbours become friends and help each other, we have witnessed time and time again people’s generosity with both their money and time but we have also seen loneliness and hardship but by matching the two we came through and we continue to do so. We will come through this stronger as a community and recognise that it’s ok to look after yourself as well as others.

We should all be proud of our community and carry our tenacity and kindness into 2021. We haven’t seen the end of the virus yet but we in Egremont and Area are better placed to continue the fight and we will overcome. Our strength in our past will help us carve a positive future.
