Moor Row School is excited to get the whole community involved in a project that will grow and grow.
From the seed of an idea, enthusiasm has sprouted for a community garden.
The Friends of Moor Row school, along with pupils, are raising money to fund and develop a piece of waste ground on the school field and turn it into an area that the entire Moor Row community can enjoy.
All the children in the school are looking forward to transforming the area into a productive piece of land.
Year 5 and 6 children have been keen to get outside and begin measuring up and planning what should be planted and where it should go.
They hope that the land on the school field behind the Moor Row play park will be cultivated into an area where plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables can be grown by the school’s pupils with the help of residents of the village.
Picnic benches and seating areas are also planned, with disabled access being a key feature.
The children want to make sure that the area is accessible to the entire community.
