New Generation Botanist Scheme

register by 13th April

As part of the LOST project (Looking Out for Small Things) which is being delivered in the Lake District, Plantlife will be running a training scheme for people who wish to learn more about the wonderful lichens of the Lake District and contribute to furthering our understanding of lichens in the Lakes, in particular those that are found on trees and in woodlands. The scheme is open to anyone irrespective of prior experience. All you need is interest, enthusiasm, time and a wish to contribute to volunteering in the Lakes.

We have fifteen spaces available for anyone who would like to take part in this scheme which will involve 5 taught days (3 in June and 2 in September), some survey days (various dates to be confirmed), some museum days in Carlisle and some self-led learning, as well as volunteering. The taught days will be delivered in Borrowdale and survey days at locations around the Lakes. More information about the scheme is provided on the link below. If you are interested in taking part please click on the link to register your interest. We will contact people by the end of April to confirm their place.
