The good citizens of the year awards

This years good citizen/s of the year award winners was this year as all years very difficult to give as there are so many people who do so many great things.

The town council because its so hard to decided between individuals or groups who do tireless good deeds to have two awards and individual award and a group award.

The group award was presented by Cllr Neil Ferguson, chairperson to Egremont bowling green.

Egremont bowling green recently won two awards at the Cumbria in bloom awards. The club have to members who work tirelessly throughout the year to both improve the look of the bowling green and club but also many members who work in the community to increase the clubs profile and to promote bowling as a hobby  and game for youths. Alan Hall, Marjorie Percival and Ken Amor represented the club.

The individual award was given to a lady who has done so much work to begin, promote and run the Egremont farmers market. The winner has asked not to be named which shows so much of what she is all about.

Egremont town council would like to thank both winners for their hard work and dedication- which we are sure everyone in the parish is very grateful for. Best wishes to all and all the best for you in the future.
