Singing for the Brain! Dementia awares week with CAAS

A Singing for the Brain service is also in the works

A NEW service for the elderly is to launch during Dementia Awareness Week.

Copeland Age and Advice Service has announced its new Dementia Café will launch in line with Dementia Awareness week, on Tuesday May 18.

The first Dementia Café will run from 11am until 12.30pm at the Whitehaven RUFC ground, the Playground on Richmond Terrace in Whitehaven.

The service will then run fortnightly on a Tuesday.

Due to current coronavirus restrictions, Copeland Age and Advice is unable to start its Singing for the Brain sessions just yet, but once they are able the age and advice charity will be including this activity as part of the Dementia Café.

The sessions will include coffee, cake, chat, games, and a variety of reminiscence activities.

The activity is currently limited to 15 participants, carers and volunteers not included.
